of selected schools.
The result of my findings should that the
commonest deviant behaviour are assault and insult of both teachers and
parents, uses of charm, dishonesty, disobedience, drug offences, gambling,
fighting, mass demonstration, sex offence, stealing, truancy, wickedness and
indiscipline. This is as a result of influences, poor school physical
condition, poor environment, bad peer groups, lack of poor school materials
such as textbooks and seats, trace was also made to children from broken homes,
poor family background and children keeping bad companies with peer groups. To
each of these problems a solution has been suggested. If these suggestions are
applied by parents, guidance and teachers and the problems of deviant behaviour
will be reduce drastically in the country and in the secondary schools in Edo
